British singer and songwriter, Ed Sheeran is heading to Africa to record new set of songs as part of a career adventure in Africa.    The singer is seeking inspiration for his next album and wants to get some from the continent as he plans on giving his audience something different.    The information was revealed by a close associate of the singer and reported by UK tabloid, The Sun. A female University of Lagos student was electrocuted yesterday Sept. 8th after a high tension cable fell on her in front of the Sodeinde hall of residence in the campus. A man in Oakland County was stabbed after he discovered his wife in bed with her own father. The 25-year-old victim came home to find his wife and his father-in-law lying naked in bed together. He woke his father-in-law up, and the two got into an argument that continued outside. The older man, Henry Allen Michael of Detroit, then allegedly stabbed his son-in-law in the back with a knife and drove away in the victim’s vehicle. The victim was taken to the hospital and treated for a non-life threatening stab wound that may have perforated his right lung. As for the victim’s wife, she said that she did not know anything had happened until her husband woke her up. She and her father had been out drinking, and she said that she passed out when they returned home. According to 26 year old Michael Frank,  his 25  year old gf, Ariel Jackson bought grapes from Walmart for a barbecue party at her sister's house this past Sunday. When Jackson started washing the grapes, she noticed a black widow spider crawling inside the package and "freaked out," he said. He said: "She was screaming about a huge spider, and everyone was like, 'Calm down, it's probably nothing,'. "But we took a closer look and lo-and-behold, it's a black widow. It had the red hourglass-shaped spot on its belly." She called 911 because the fire department was closed.  She said: "When I called them, I said, 'This isn’t really an emergency, but I have a black widow spider,'" Jackson told ABC affiliate in Detroit. "And he’s like, 'Just kill it,’ and I’m like, 'Me? You want me to kill it?’" Frank said he took photos and video of the spider before he and Jackson's brother sprayed...

On Monday, an 8 year-old boy who was returning from a  summer coaching class (lesson) from a school located by Lawrence road in Lagos was kidnapped by a man who then tried to use him as collateral to buy crates of soft drinks worth N51,000. According to the  story, t he suspect, who was later identified as Jonathan Coker, reportedly kidnapped the primary school pupil (name withheld), took him to a provision store located on Cole Street,  ordered the crates of soft drinks then told  the shop owner that he didn't have enough money to pay for the goods hence would leave his 'younger brother' behind, to get the full amount of money from his house. A deal the unsuspecting shop owner agreed to, so he gave the crates of soft drinks to Coker. A Hungarian camerawoman with the country's N1 TV station was seen tripping a Syrian refugee  holding his crying child while they were trying to run away from the police. The man got up and said something to the woman before the video was cut off. The scene was captured at the Roeszke camp as hundreds of refugees tried to escape from the police. The woman has since been fired.  On its Web site, the TV station posted a statement that read: "Today, a N1TV colleague behaved unacceptably at the Roeszke reception center. The cameraman's employment was terminated with immediate effect." The statement was signed by N1TV editor Szabolcs Kisber.  Watch the video below:

An Ado-Ekiti customary court, yesterday, dissolved the 26-year marriage between a bricklayer, James Kayode Oguntuase, 75 and his wife, Felicia, 53, over sexual deprivation. Oguntuase accused Felicia of denying him sex, adultery, stealing and stubbornness, allegations which she denied.The petitioner told the court that he had caught his wife with 3 different men and that she had aborted three pregnancies for her lovers. He also accused also alleged that his estranged wife stealing N35,000, the money he had saved for the purchase of carpentry materials. He asked the court for the custody of their 6 children,Caroline, 25; Peter, 23; Akin, 18; Ife, 15; Rachel, 12; and Tolulope, 6 stating that he'd be responsible for their upkeep and everything else. However, the wife, in her response, said she denied the petitioner sex on grounds of ill-health, and also denied the allegations of adultery and stealing. An offshore oil worker working with one of the oil companies in Delta state died unexpectedly after lodging with two women at Beji's court in Ugborikoko area of Warri in Delta state on September 5th. According to police report, the man arrived the hotel in company of two women but was later found unresponsive in his room by one of the hotel cleaners. The two ladies were no where in sight. He was immediately rushed to the hospital where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival. His body was deposited at the Warri Central Hospital. Efforts are ongoing to trace the ladies while the state CIID Asaba is investigating the matter.

Venus won her fourth round match against Anett Kontaveit on Sunday and Serena beat Madison Keys, setting up the Williams Sisters match up at the quarter finals tomorrow.
